"Golf Camp"

The week of June 23, 2008 the kids attended golf camp for the first time. They got some great tips on their swing and learned some cool things about golf. The kids were split up into two groups for the camp. Savannah was in the older group and Jordan was in the younger group. The last day of camp the kids and their families got to play a 4 hole game where the kids competed in a best score competition against others in their groups. I am very proud to announce that Savannah won in her group and Jordan was the winner in his group. They each won 5 golf balls and a bag of colored tees. Earlier in the week they had also won some other prizes for some of the putting competitions. They had a blast! Oh, did I tell you that they each got to keep their golf sets which included the bag, 5 clubs, 3 balls, a bag of tees, their cap, and their golf shirt. The clubs were even ordered for their height. What a deal!!!!

"Last Yearbook Page"

Ok, this is the last yearbook page that I'm going to show. I wanted to show this one because of the many layers I used just on one of the tags on this page. Notice the Student Council tag? Well it has 12 or 13 differents items used, layered together just to make this tag. This program really has a lot to work with if you want to take the time with it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this last page.

"Yearbook I Designed"

As you all know, I usually work every year on my children's school yearbook but last year I actually designed it using a scrapbook book program that I purchased. Anyway, some of you have been asking to see some of the pages that I did. Although I can not show the pages fully because I'm not allowed to show photos of the kids on my site, I did take a page and blocked out the pictures just so that you can see what one of the pages looked like. Here is one from Red Ribbon Week. Let me know what you think. I'll try to post another one later.

All of the pages were 8.5 x 11". It was a 56 page colored yearbook. I had to save this page as a JPEG format to post it here so the quality is not as high as the original page but you get the idea of what the page looked like anyway.

Yes it was very time comsuming because I'm very picky but I'm glad to say it was a great success!

"San Diego Zoo........May 28, 2008"

On May 28th we all decide to go to San Diego and visit the world famous San Diego Zoo. We spent the day and although we saw almost every thing at the zoo there were a few animals that we didn't get to visit because we were running out of time. As with everything else, we really enjoyed our trip to the zoo with the crew from TN.

Timothy, Sherri, Eugene, Beverly, and Sean we love you guys and it really means a lot to us that you all came out to California and visited with us. I don't think none of us will ever forget the many laughs we had during this week and I know that we will always tell the "map" story for many years to come. :) We hope that you can visit us again before we move from this area.

"Las Vegas....May 26, 2008"

On our way home from Hoover Dam, we decided to check out Vegas. No we didn't do any gambling but we did enjoy seeing some of the famous casinos and the famous Vegas LIGHTS!

Here are a few of the photos we have to share with you all.

"Hoover Dam & Lake Mead......May 26, 2008"

When we all left the Grand Canyon we headed over to Nevada and spent the night so we could visit Hoover Dam and the Lake Mead area the next day. The Dam was an amazing site to see. We ended up spending most of the day there. We took the tour inside the Dam and it was absoultely amazing. You can click here to learn more about Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

Again the pictures really don't do it justice but here are a few from our day. I hope you enjoy!

This is a picture of all of us. There is a Hoover Dam sign above our heads that we were hoping the man would get in the photo but I guess he was just making sure he had all of us in the photo. Oh well, it still turned out to be a great group photo of us.

"Grand Canyon.....May 25, 2008"

As I mentioned before, at the end of May we had some family and friends from TN come out to visit us here in California. One of the places we visited while they were here is the Grand Canyon. We boarded a train in Williams, AZ and road it into the Grand Canyon. We had a blast! The Grand Canyon is an awesome site to see and if you've never visited it before, trust me, the pictures don't do it justice. On the way back we experienced a "train robbery" just like the old days in the west. Of course it was a "planned" robbery but trust me, they really did take what ever you dropped into their bags. As you can see from the photo, Savannah didn't want to give her dollar up. LOL

I hope you all enjoy the photos. Sorry it took me so long to post them on my blog.

The first picture is a picture of the kids with Eugene after the "Old West Shoot Out" show that we saw before boarding the train. The second picture is a picture of Rodger's brother, Timothy and his wife Sherri.

Here's a picture of us in front of the train we road.

When we first got to the Grand Canyon viewing area we were lucky to get to see the mighty Condors flying! There was actually 3 of them flying! They were only there for a few minutes but we were able to get some really great shots of them flying over the Canyon. What an awesome site! They are huge!

Then a squirrel came right up to the kids at another look out area. They thought that was so cool!

Our friends, Eugene & Beverly with their son Sean!

Timothy, Eugene, & Rodge!

A couple of my favorite shots!

No, we don't know the guy in the background but I love this shot and the way he is standing in the background behind the kids with the Grand Canyon view in the distance!

The train robbery!
